Polymers for industrial 3D printing: TPE Thermoplastic elastomers

TPE Thermoplastic elastomers for 3D printing

Materials from this polymer class have similar functional properties to elastomers – that means that they are flexible at room temperature but remain dimensionally stable. When heat is applied they can be plastically deformed and processed like thermoplastics. Due to this ease of processing they stand in for crosslinked elastomers as well as soft PVC.

Areas of application: TPE can be used, for example, to manufacture damping elements, bumpers, bellows, soles, handles, or hoses.

Material EOS TPU 1301 - Thermoplastic elastomer white for industrial 3D printing

EOS TPU 1301 - Thermoplastic elastomer white

The components made from this white material are extremely resistant to hydrolysis and have high resilience and good tribological properties. The degree of flexibility can be influenced by the component design and the process parameters applied, and can also vary within the component.
