URMA AG is expanding its international presence. Effective August 1, 2026, the Swiss family-owned company has acquired HAAS Outlet Factory (HFO) in Austria and established URMA Austria GmbH, creating its first international location in the Machines business. This strategic step further strengthens URMA's position in the Central European market for CNC machine tools.
By adding the HAAS product portfolio, URMA is expanding the successful HFO business model beyond Switzerland for the first time, bringing its machine sales and service expertise into the European Union. "With URMA Austria, we are establishing our first international sales and service platform for the Machines business. This is a significant milestone in URMA's growth strategy," says Oliver Berner, Co-CEO of URMA AG.
The Austrian sales organization will operate under the name URMA Austria GmbH. Burghard Schachner has been appointed Managing Director, combining extensive local market expertise with URMA's innovation and technical know-how. "We are excited to provide our customers in Austria with comprehensive solutions and first-class service as part of the URMA Group," says Burghard Schachner, Managing Director of URMA Austria GmbH.
