Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) uses metal powders – such as titanium, aluminum, or stainless steel – which are melted layer by layer with a high-power laser until a dense, fully formed metal part is created.
DMLS is also known as Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF). It is the most widely adopted and established metal additive manufacturing technology in industrial production.
Applications: aerospace, medical devices and implants, tooling, automotive components.
