PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond)

A polycrystalline diamond consists of numerous microscopic diamond crystals that are sintered under high pressure and high temperature into a homogeneous, extremely hard cutting material. PCD is one of the hardest known tool materials and offers exceptional wear resistance. It is particularly suitable for machining non-ferrous materials.

PCD is used in the URMA MX diamond tool system for precise face milling with very high flatness and surface quality requirements, as well as in the RX medium reaming system for highly productive reaming with extremely long tool life.

Typical materials: Aluminium, aluminium alloys, copper, brass, bronze, plastics (including glass-fibre-reinforced plastics), graphite.
