Offset roughing is a machining strategy used with boring tools. The cutting edges are offset radially in diameter and axially in height. This strategy allows the removal of larger diameters in a single pass while requiring lower torque.
Depending on the tool type, the offset-roughing process can also be performed using a single URMA spindle tool.
